Fit Fridays : Week 7

Week two of SleekGeek done! I can say that the day-to-day eating has become easier - you start realising which meals you love and which work on the reboot and work out your favourites. So far mine is angelfish (or any fish for that matter) poached in coconut milk with lemon grass, lime leaves and coriander. Another lovely discover has been almond and lemon zest crusted prawns, on a bed of sweetcorn puree. Sigh, suppose I've jumped straight into the "nourish" part without an actual introduction. So, getting back to that - one of the supreme joys of my foodblog is receiving invitations to enjoy meals at lovely restaurants. (Un) fortunately, that hasn't stopped over the past two weeks - with invitations to eat here and here happily arriving in my inbox, I've had to think about how I would navigate eating out during these 30 days.

We've reached a little compromise - I'll stick to Whole30 when cooking at home and eating with friends. When we're invited to meals / reviews, we have a "free pass" so to speak. The purists may say I'm off the plan, but Luke and I are looking at making this a long-term way of eating, so it needs to be sustainable and able to fit in with our lifestyle, to a lesser extent.

Move

I've started to get back in the move-groove again, and feel better for it (of course). This was the plan for this week:
  • Session 1 : Walk 5 minutes. Jog 5 minutes. Repeat three times.
  • Session 2: Walk 40 minutes briskly.
  • Session 3: Walk 5 minutes. Jog 10 minutes. Walk 10 minutes. Jog 5 minutes. Walk 5 minutes to finish.
While I am happily back at my beloved Virgin Active, jogging for 5 minutes is more than my generally-still-unfit-allergy-ridden-body can do. I'll still with this week's plan for the next week at least, or until I can do 4:30 minutes of jogging.

Results

As with last week, I haven't weighed or measured myself while doing SleekGeek. Now that there are restaurant reviews in the middle, I'll weigh myself next week, just to make sure I'll still staying on track. Fingers crossed for good news. I do feel a difference through - besides any potential weight and cm loss - my body feels happier. Subsequently, I feel happier for treating it right. So regardless of the results, I like the feeling this is giving me.
